Giants vs. Cowboys Odds
The 2015 version of NBC’s Sunday Night Football debuts tonight at 8:30PM ET when the Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants in an NFC East clash.
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, the Cowboys are the favorite in this contest, as Dallas is getting odds of -6 points against the Giants. The over/under total for the game has been set at 52 points. The Cowboys have won four straight over the Giants coming into tonight, covering the spread in three of the four victories. These two have hit the over in five straight meetings.
The Cowboys were 12-4 last season, winning the NFC East and reaching the second round of the playoffs. Dallas was 11-7 against the spread last season while going 9-8-1 with the over. Jason Garrett comes into his sixth season as head coach of the Cowboys. He is 41-31 in his time with the team and last year marked his first playoff win as head coach. The Cowboys lost a big piece of the offense from last year in DeMarco Murray, who rushed for 1,845 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2014. Joseph Randle is expected to be the team’s lead back in his place. Dez Bryant got a new contract in the offseason after catching 88 passes for 1,320 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2014. That should help Tony Romo, who is coming off a 3,705-yard season with 34 touchdowns.
The Giants were 6-10 last season, finishing third in the NFC East. The Giants were 7-9 against the spread in 2014 while going 10-6 with the over. Tom Coughlin is coming into his 12th season as head coach of the Giants. He is 96-80 in his time with the team, including two Super Bowl titles. However, the Giants have missed the playoffs for three straight seasons. Eli Manning struck a new deal with the team recently and is coming off a 4,410-yard, 30-touchdown season in 2014. However, he also had 14 interceptions. Still, Manning has a big new weapon in Odell Beckham Jr., who had 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns last season despite missing the start of the season. One big issue right now for New York is the status of Jason Pierre-Paul who lost a finger in a fireworks accident over the summer. His timetable to return is unknown. JPP had 12.5 sacks last season.
