According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Minnesota is the slight favorite at home in this game, as the Vikings are getting odds of -3 points against the Lions. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 43 points. The Lions are just 2-6-2 against the spread in their last 10 trips to Minnesota and the two have hit the under in 10 of their last 14 meetings.

The Vikings closed out Week 1 of the season with a 20-3 loss at San Francisco on Monday night. The Vikings were a 2.5-point favorite going into the game and they went under the 41.5-point total. Minnesota was held to just 248 yards of offense in the loss while the defense gave up 395 total yards to the 49ers, including 230 rushing yards. Minnesota was excited about having Adrian Peterson back, but the veteran running back had just 31 rushing yards on 10 carries. Teddy Bridgewater had 231 passing yards with one interception.

The Lions suffered a 33-28 loss at San Diego to start the season. Detroit failed to cover the 3.5-point spread while going over the 45.5-point total. Detroit took a 21-3 lead on the Chargers in the second quarter, but then gave up 30 straight points as the offense sputtered and the defense got tired. Detroit allowed 483 yards of offense to the Chargers while the Lions themselves had just 302 total yards. Matthew Stafford finished with 246 passing yards and two touchdowns, but he also had two interceptions. Ameer Abdullah had 50 rushing yards with a touchdown and four receptions for 44 yards in his NFL debut.
