According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Panthers are the favorite on the road, as they are getting odds of -3 points against the Bucs. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 39.5 points. Carolina has won four straight over Tampa, covering the spread in three of the four victories.

Carolina is 3-0 on the season, 2-1 against the spread and 1-1-1 with the over/under total. While not being overwhelming, the Panthers are finding ways to win, picking up a 27-22 win over the Saints last week. Carolina just traded for Jared Allen on Tuesday as well in attempt to strengthen the defense, which is giving up just 16 points per game thus far and holding opponents to 75.7 rushing yards per contest. Cam Newton is leading the offense thus far with 685 passing yards and five touchdowns to go with 144 rushing yards and two scores. Greg Olsen is the leading receiver with 15 catches for 215 yards and two touchdowns while the defense is led by Thomas Davis, who has 25 tackles with a sack and an interception.

Tampa Bay is 1-2 on the season, 1-2 against the spread and 2-1 with the under. After a big 26-19 win at New Orleans two weeks ago, the Bucs fell to Houston last week on the road, 19-9. The offense has been struggling for consistency as it is averaging just 16 points and 308 yards per game. Jameis Winston has thrown for 678 yards and four touchdowns in his rookie year, but also has three interceptions. Doug Martin is the team’s leading rusher with 176 yards. Defensively, Tampa is struggling against the run, giving up 138 yards per game on the ground. Jacquies Smith is leading that unit with 10 tackles and four sacks.
