According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Bucs are the favorite at home this week, as they are getting odds of -3 points against the Titans. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 41 points. The Titans have won six of their last seven against the Bucs and are 4-1-1 against the spread in the last six in this series.

The Bucs were 2-14 last season, which earned them the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft. The Bucs were 7-9 against the spread while going 11-5 with the under last year. Lovie Smith is entering his second season with the franchise, which selected Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston with the top pick in the draft. Winston has some nice weapons to work with in receivers Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson, who each had over 1,000 yards last season. Evans also caught 12 touchdown passes. Evans is doubtful for the game though, because of a hamstring injury.

The Titans also were 2-14 last season and ended up with the No. 2 pick in the NFL Draft. Tennessee was just 3-12-1 against the spread while going 10-6 with the under last season. Ken Whisenhunt is entering his second year as coach of the franchise, which took Marcus Mariota with the second pick. Mariota is a mobile quarterback but it is unclear if he has the passing skills to succeed in the NFL. Mariota doesn’t seem to have the weapons to work with that Winston does, as the Titans top receiver from last year was tight end Delanie Walker, who caught 63 passes for 890 yards and four scores.
