Cardinals vs. Lions Odds
The Arizona Cardinals look to bounce back from their first loss this week when they hit the road to face the winless Detroit Lions on Sunday at 4:05PM ET on FOX.
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie, the Cardinals are a slight favorite on the road, as they are getting odds of -2.5 points in Detroit. The over/under total for the game has been set at 44.5 points. Arizona has won six straight over the Lions, covering the spread in five of the six meetings.
Arizona is 3-1 on the season, 3-1 against the spread and 4-0 with the over. Arizona started 3-0 but had a surprising 24-22 loss at home to the Rams last week. Arizona is now averaging 37 points and 410.5 yards per game on offense while allowing 18.2 points and 316 yards per game on defense. In the loss to St. Louis, Arizona had a 447-328 edge in total yards, but the Cardinals had three turnovers while St. Louis had none. Carson Palmer finished with 352 passing yards and a touchdown while Larry Fitzgerald caught seven passes for 99 yards. Calais Campbell led the defense with 11 tackles, three tackles for loss and ½ a sack.
Detroit is 0-4 on the year, 1-3 against the spread and 3-1 with the under. The Lions are the lone winless team in the NFL following a 13-10 loss to the Seahawks on the road last Monday. The win came in somewhat controversial fashion, but Calvin Johnson fumbled the ball at the 1 while going for a potential go-ahead TD in the fourth quarter. Detroit is averaging just 16.5 points and 301.2 yards per game on offense, including only 47 rushing yards per game. Defensively, the Lions are allowing 24 points and 403.2 yards per game. Matthew Stafford has 1,017 passing yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions while Johnson has 27 catches for 255 yards and a score. The defense is led by Ezekiel Ansah, who has 15 tackles with four sacks.
