Seahawks vs. Rams Free Pick
A defensive struggle should break out today at the Edward Jones Dome when the Rams host the Seahawks at 1:00PM ET.
The Rams will start two rookies along their offensive line in Jamon Brown at left guard and Rob Havenstein at right tackle. They’ll also start a center in Tim Barnes that only has four career starts and a left tackle in Greg Robinson that is in his second year and continues to struggle in pass protection.
None of this is a good sign for Nick Foles, who is learning a new playbook, a new offense, and new receivers. The Rams’ offense will also be without their top two running backs in Todd Gurley and Tre Mason, who is technically a game-time decision but hasn’t practiced all week. That’s a recipe for disaster against a formidable Seattle defense.
Speaking of the Seahawks, they too have questions along the offensive line and coach Pete Carroll has expressed some concern about his offense after an inconsistent preseason display. The Rams boast one of the best front sevens in the league and perhaps the best pass rush thanks to DT Aaron Donald and end Robert Quinn.
The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams and 4-1 in the last five meetings in St. Louis. According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Rams are 4-point home underdogs while the total is sitting at 40.5 points, down from the opening number of 43.
