2017 NFL Indianapolis Colts Season Win Total Predictions

Colts Season Win Prediction

After posting back-to-back 8-8 seasons the last two years, will the Colts progress or regress in 2017?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Colts’ season win total has been set at 9 games, although some sports books have taken Indy’s over/under off the board until there’s more clarity on Andrew Luck’s surgically-repaired shoulder.

Bet 2017 Indianapolis Colts Season Win Odds

This offseason the Colts attempted to improve their defense with the additions of defensive tackle Jonathan Hankins (three years, $27 million), linebacker Jabaal Sheard (three years, $25.5 million), linebacker John Simon (three years, $13.5 million) and defensive tackle Margus Hunt (two years, $4.1 million). The team also brought back cornerback Darius Butler and running back Robert Turbin, plus took a one-year flier on former first-round pick Barkevious Mingo.

The Colts also focused on their defense in April’s draft. They selected Ohio State safety Malik Hooker with the 15th overall pick and then nabbed Florida corner Quincy Wilson in the second. In the third, the Colts took Ohio defensive end Tarrell Basham before turning to offense in the fourth round with USC tackle Zach Banner.

OUR PREDICTION: If you can still find the Colts at either o/u 9 or o/u 8.5, grab the under. Luck’s shoulder is a massive concern and if he winds up missing a fourth of the season it’ll be extremely difficult for the Colts to win a game under Scott Tolzien. The right line of the offensive line also has question marks and even though the defense is improved on paper, it won’t be good enough to mask the deficiencies on offense.
