Giants Season Win Total Prediction
Will the New York Giants regress in 2017 after winning 11 games last season?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Giants have an over/under of 8.5 for numbers of wins in 2017. They’re also 17/1 to win the Super Bowl and have 8/1 odds to win the NFC Conference Championship. The G-Men are also favored to win the NFC East Division at 19/10 odds.
The Giants took a flier on receiver Brandon Marshall this offseason after he was released by the Jets. They signed him to a two-year deal to pair with Odell Beckham Jr. in what will be one of the better receiving corps in the NFL. Other free agent additions included tight end Rhett Ellison, guard D.J. Fluker, quarterback Geno Smith and safety Duke Ihenacho.
In the draft, the Giants once again added to their passing game with the addition of Ole Miss tight end Evan Engram in the first round. In the second, the Giants went defense with Alabama DT Dalvin Tomlinson and in the third, the team took Cal quarterback Davis Webb. Clemson running back Wayne Gallman could see some action if New York once again can’t get its running game going.

OUR PREDICTION: This will be an unpopular pick but I actually think the Giants regress to 8 wins this season. New York’s defense masked a lot of weaknesses on the offensive side of the ball, chief among them was quarterback Eli Manning. Yes, the Giants have some of the best receivers in the league. But those weapons won’t matter if Eli struggles as badly as he did a year ago. Plus, reports out of training camp is that left tackle Ereck Flowers is struggling mightily. The running game, quarterback, and offensive line are question marks for the Giants. The defense can only do so much and if that side slips at all, then the G-Men could be under .500 one year after winning 11 games.
