49ers vs. Cardinals Week 14 Odds
PHOENIX, AZ (The Spread) – NFC West rivals will battle in Arizona this Sunday when the Cardinals host the 49ers at 4:05PM ET.
SAN FRANCISCO: The 49ers didn’t have much issue disposing of the Rams last Sunday in San Francisco, as they crushed St. Louis, 26-0. Alex Smith threw for 274 yards and two touchdowns on 17-of-23 passing, while Frank Gore rushed for 73 yards on 21 carries. The victory improved San Francisco’s record to 10-2 and allowed the Niners to clinch the NFC West. The win also lifted San Fran’s ATS record to 10-1-1, which is the best mark in the NFL. With the division already wrapped up, the Niners can now concentrate on trying to secure one of the top two spots in the conference so that they could potentially have home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
ARIZONA: The playoffs may not be a reality for the Cardinals but that hasn’t stopped them from winning two in a row and four of their last five. Their latest victory came in an overtime win against the Cowboys last week in which LaRod Stephens-Howling caught a short pass from quarterback Kevin Kolb and raced 52 yards to the house for the game-winning score. Kolb finished with 247 yards and a touchdown on 16-of-25 passing in the game, while Beanie Wells rushed for 67 yards and a score on 20 carries. Arizona is now 5-7 on the year and 7-5 against the number.
ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the 49ers as 3.5-point favorites over the Cardinals for Sunday’s game, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 40 points. San Francisco enters the game with a 10-2 overall record and is 4-1 on the road this year, while Arizona is 5-7 overall and 3-2 at home.
TRENDS: The 49ers are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games overall and 5-0 ATS in their last five trips to Arizona. The road team, meanwhile is 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings between these two teams while the over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings in Arizona, and the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall.
