Who the Public Likes: Philadelphia. No surprise here, as the Eagles have been on a four-game tear against the spread. With hours to go before kickoff, 63% of tickets are on Philadelphia to cover the double-digit spread. The Eagles are 6-1 overall and 5-2 against the spread, while the 49ers are 0-7 overall and 4-3 against the number.
Who the Trends Like: Philadelphia and the over. In the last nine meetings between these two teams, the over is 7-2. In the last seven meetings, the favorite is 5-2. The 49ers have also failed to cover in five of the last seven games between these two teams but are 4-1 against the number in their last five road games.
Who We Like: San Francisco. Public bettors tend to make plays based on what they just saw. When it comes to this matchup, what public bettors just saw was the 49ers laying an egg at home in a blowout loss to the Cowboys and on the other side, the Eagles beating a divisional opponent in primetime. Outside of last week and their opener versus the Panthers, the Niners have been in every game this season. Again, last week was an exception, but they’ve played hard under head coach Kyle Shanahan and are dying for their first win. I’m not saying the Niners win outright today, but I like them to keep the score under double-digits.
