49ers vs. Packers Free Pick
Green Bay, WI (TheSpread) – The Green Bay Packers are fighting for their playoff lives and after suffering a heartbreaking loss last Sunday, they’ll look to rebound this weekend when they host the San Francisco 49ers at 1:00PM ET.
According to Week 13 NFL odds and oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, the Packers are 9.5-point favorites over the 49ers this Sunday. The over/under total for this game is currently 41 points.
The 49ers improved to 4-7 with their win against the Cardinals on Monday night and are now 4-7 against the spread according to latest NFL trends. They’re just 1-4 on the road this year and have failed to cover in three of those five games away from Candlestick Park.
The Packers dropped to 7-4 with their loss to the Falcons last Sunday and are now 6-5 against the spread. They’re 4-1 at home this year and have covered in three of those five games at Lambeau Field.
NFL Week 13 Free Pick:
The 49ers looked great on Monday night but that came against a horrendous Arizona team that doesn’t have a quarterback. It’ll be a different story this week against Aaron Rodgers, who was outstanding in a losing effort last Sunday against the Falcons (minus a fumble at the goal line). The Pack can’t run the ball, but they shouldn’t need to either. San Francisco can be had through the air and Rodgers should be able to move the ball with receivers Greg Jennings and Donald Driver. While Brian Westbrook had a great game against Arizona, he’ll find it tougher to find running lanes against a stingy Green Bay defense. The loss of Frank Gore certainly hurts quarterback Troy Smith, who doesn’t have a full grasp of the 49ers’ playbook yet and therefore, limits what San Fran can do through the air. The Niners may have climbed back into the playoff picture in that horrid NFC West, but these two teams are on different levels. Our pick is the Packers -9.5.
