San Francisco 49ers DFS Spin
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb) is expected to play in Week 18 against the Rams. Garoppolo is playing through a torn ligament in his thumb but got in limited practices later in the week. It was already reported that he is expected to start but extra confirmation from Rapsheet can’t hurt. As he pointed out, San Francisco did not activate another quarterback so they appear to be reasonably confident that Garoppolo is okay. Trey Lance will be waiting in the wings should anything happen to Garoppolo.
Los Angeles Rams DFS Spin
Matthew Stafford completed 26-of-35 attempts for 309 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Rams’ Week 17 win against the Ravens. Nearly 46 percent of Stafford’s throws went to Tyler Higbee and Cooper Kupp on intermediate attempts in a methodical Rams offense. He threw yet another pick six and almost had another interception for a touchdown at the end of the first quarter against the injury-plagued Baltimore secondary. A little more volatile than Sean McVay likely expected, Stafford has smartly fed his best weapons all season and continued to do so against the Ravens in Week 17. He now has multiple touchdown tosses in five of his past six outings. He should be a solid QB in Week 18 against the Niners.
49ers vs. Rams Betting Prediction
The 49ers are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games in L.A. and are 4-1 against the number in their last five games versus the Rams overall. The underdog is also 5-0 against the number in the last five meetings between these two teams, while the Niners are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games as an underdog. On the other side, the Rams are 5-12-1 against the spread in their last 18 home games when facing an opponent with a winning road record and are 1-4 ATS in their last five games versus a team with a winning record.
