Elijah Mitchell (knee) is out for Week 16 against the Titans Thursday night. Mitchell will miss his third straight game, giving Jeff Wilson another start in the backfield after going over 100 yards with a touchdown against the Falcons last Sunday as the week’s overall RB3 in fantasy. Deebo Samuel will also stay involved as a runner with 33 carries and six rushing scores over the last five weeks.
Tennessee Titans DFS Spin
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that A.J. Brown (chest) is likely to play in Week 16 against the 49ers. Brown was knocked out of Week 11 with a chest injury, and was placed on injured reserve prior to Week 12. His absence has coincided with a brutal stretch for the Titans passing game, where Ryan Tannehill has thrown for less than 200 yards in all three games. Tannehill managed just 93 passing yards against the Patriots in Week 12. Julio Jones’ aggravation of his hamstring injury ensures that Brown will be the true focal point of the Titans’ passing attack against the 49ers. It’s possible that the Titans and 49ers both play with an ultra run-heavy approach, but the 49ers are vulnerable through the air, setting Brown up for a high ceiling. Brown profiles as a boom/bust WR2 if he is indeed healthy enough to play.
49ers vs. Titans Betting Prediction
The 49ers are 5-1 against the spread in their last six games overall, are 5-2 against the number in their last seven games when facing an opponent with a winning record and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games after allowing less than 90 yards rushing in their previous contest. On the other side, the Titans are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games overall and have dropped seven of their last 10 games against the spread after allowing less than 250 total yards in their previous contest.
