Early Money on Pats to Cover in AFC
Early money is coming in on the New England Patriots to cover the spread against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game this Sunday.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are now 9-point home favorites to knock off the Jaguars, who opened as 8.5-point underdogs. The line jumped a full point to 9.5 within the first 24 hours that it was posted but something trigged oddsmakers to move away from the key number of 10.
As for the total, the number hit the board at 47 but was bet down to 46.5. The over is a perfect 4-0 in the Patriots’ last four playoff games, is 4-0 in their last four games played in the month of January and is 7-0 in their last seven home postseason games. It has also cashed in eight of New England’s last 11 home games and is 5-2-1 in Jacksonville’s last eight playoff games.
