Baltimore Ravens Fantasy Spin
Lamar Jackson completed 14-of-23 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens’ 20-17, Week 13 win over the 49ers, adding 16 carries for 101 additional yards and a touchdown. Playing in swirling rain — Jackson admitted after the game that he was bothered by the conditions — the sophomore quarterback had a forgettable day as a passer, completing just three throws to wide receivers. As usual, he compensated on the ground, clearing 100 yards for the fourth time this season. He has reached at least 79 yards rushing each of the past three weeks. Jackson’s running is unprecedented for a quarterback at the NFL level. Jackson’s ground score was a one-yard keeper on a second quarter third down. His passing touchdown was a beautiful 20-yarder to Mark Andrews following a play fake. The MVP frontrunner has another tough Week 14 matchup in a Buffalo road trip.
Buffalo Bills Fantasy Spin
Josh Allen completed 19-of-24 passes for 231 yards and one score, chipping in 10 carries for 43 yards and another touchdown in Buffalo’s Week 13 domination over the Cowboys. In what was the second-year signal-caller’s first primetime game of his career, Allen made a handful of jaw-dropping plays, evading pass rushers in his own end zone to find Cole Beasley (6/110/1) for a first down along the sidelines and later sliding up in the pocket to again find Beasley hovering over the middle for a 25-yard touchdown strike. Allen even mishandled a crucial 4th-and-1 sneak but picked up the ball and churned his legs over the center and through Byron Jones for a three-yard gain to setup John Brown’s ensuing touchdown toss (not a mistype) to Devin Singletary. The Bills are clicking due in part to their heavy usage of 11 personnel the past three games, which has helped them move to 9-3 while eyeing a Wild Card berth. Buffalo’s Week 14 test against the Ravens will be must-see television.
NFL Betting Trends
Baltimore
The over is 6-2 in the Ravens’ last eight games after accumulating more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
Buffalo
The under is 9-1 in the Bills’ last 10 games after allowing more than 350 total yards in their previous game.
Prediction
The over is 6-2 in the Ravens’ last eight games versus AFC opponents, is 5-1 in their last six road games and has cashed in five straight games as a road favorite. The biggest weakness of the Bills defensively is their run defense, which is a huge issue against a Ravens team that runs the ball at will. I think that will lead to plenty of points for Baltimore, which will force Buffalo to keep pace offensively as well. The number is too low.
