Chicago Bears DFS Spin
Justin Fields completed 4-of-7 passes for 48 yards and rushed once for 10 yards in the Bears’ preseason opener Saturday. If Saturday was any indication, Fields is going to have a long 2022 season. The Chiefs sacked the sophomore quarterback twice and hit him several times, as the Bears’ league-worst offensive line couldn’t protect their quarterback. Fields still made plays when he was able to get some throws off, dropping a beauty into Darnell Mooney for 26 yards on a third down after the Bears went three-and-out on the opening drive. Fields later found Tajae Sharpe for another third-down conversion. The Bears’ skill group along with brutal blocking has Fields buried deep into the fantasy QB2 tiers.
Seattle Seahawks DFS Spin
Drew Lock tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss the next game against the Bears. Lock was slated to start in the Seahawks’ second preseason game against the Bears. This was his chance to close the gap between he and Geno Smith as they are in the middle of a quarterback battle. With Lock now missing the game, Smith will get a chance to create distance and get himself closer to being the team’s starter.

Bears vs. Seahawks Prediction
I backed the Bears in their preseason opener against the Chiefs, largely because I like taking teams with new coaching staffs in the preseason. They often feel like they have more to prove, whereas a veteran coach like Andy Reid is just trying to get through the preseason with his roster unscathed. The same theory applies here, as veteran Pete Carroll (albeit with a roster more in flux than Reid had last week), squaring off against newcomer Matt Eberflus. The Bears’ hopes and dreams won’t be dashed for another couple of weeks. For now, they’re flying high after beating the Chiefs last week and I see them hanging on the road tonight in Seattle as well.
