Hayden Hurst (calf) said he’ll play in the AFC Championship Game against the Chiefs. Hurst practiced Friday ahead of the Bengals’ AFC title bout with Kansas City and was officially removed from the injury report. He was added to the team’s injury report Thursday with a calf issue that has plagued him for the past couple months. Hurst could be more involved than usual this Sunday if the Bengals continue to operate a quick-hitting passing attack against the Chiefs.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters that Patrick Mahomes (ankle) will start in Sunday’s AFC Championship against the Bengals. He’d gotten in two full practices in a row to open the week, then added a third to that on Friday and was taken off the injury report. There’s never been much of a doubt that Mahomes would play, only doubts about how much mobility he’ll have on a damaged ankle. Reid said that Mahomes is “moving around good” when asked about it today.
