Bengals vs. Patriots Pick
When the Bengals and Patriots battle at Foxboro this Sunday will the over cash for bettors or is the under the better bet?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Patriots are now 8.5-point home favorites versus the Bengals after opening as an 8-point favorite earlier this week. As for the total, the over/under is currently sitting at 47 points after opening at that same number.
The Bengals are coming off a 28-14 loss to the Cowboys as a 2.5-point favorite in Dallas. That loss dropped their record to 2-3 on the year and after failing to cover, the Bengals are now 2-3 against the spread as well. As an underdog this season, the Bengals won outright as a 1-point dog at the Jets in Week 1 but failed to cover the following week at +3 against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
The Patriots are coming off a 33-13 blowout win over the Browns in Tom Brady’s return from a four-game suspension. The win was New England’s fourth of the season as the team ran its record to 4-1 overall and 4-1 against the spread, with its lone loss and failed cover coming in a 16-0 home defeat at the hands of the Bills. The under has also cashed in three straight Patriot games and is 4-1 in New England’s five games this season.

OUR PICK: Despite the under being a great bet in New England games this season, the over is still the better play tonight. That’s because the over has cashed in five of the last seven meetings between these two teams and with Brady back, the Patriots should be a sound bet to get into the 20s every week. The Bengals are having issues stopping the run and if they overcommit this weekend, Brady will carve them up in the passing game. The over is also a perfect 5-0 in the Bengals’ last six games played in Week 6 and is 4-0 in the Patriots’ last four Week 6 games.
