Bengals vs. Titans NFL Week 9 Odds
(The Spread) – Two surprising AFC teams will lock horns on Sunday when the Titans host the Bengals at 4:05PM ET.
CINCINNATI: Who would have thought at the midway point of the season that the Bengals would be 5-2 and 3-1 on the road? But they are, and it’s mostly been the play of their defense that has carried Cincinnati thus far. Of course, rookie quarterback Andy Dalton continues to hold his own and receiver A.J. Green has scored nearly a touchdown per game this season. Now that the team is getting Cedric Benson (458 yards) back from suspension this week, the Bengals have to feel good about potentially starting the season 6-2 and remaining in the thick of things in the AFC North.
TENNESSEE: The Titans continue to plod along this season. After rattling off three wins in a row in September and early October, the dropped back-to-back games before beating the winless Colts 27-10 last Sunday. The win elevated Tennessee’s record to 4-3 and 3-4 against the spread. If the team could ever figure out how to get Chris Johnson (302 rushing yards) going, maybe their offense would be more dynamic. But until then, Matt Hasselbeck (1,742 yards) and the defense will have to continue carrying this team.
ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the Titans as 3-point home favorites over the Bengals, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 41.5 points. Cincinnati is 3-1 on the road this year while Tennessee is 3-1 at home.
TRENDS: The over is 6-0 in the last six games between these two teams when the contest is played in Tennessee while the road team is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings between these tow teams. The Bengals are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall and 8-0 ATS in their last eight games versus the AFC. The Titans, meanwhile, are 0-4 ATS in their last four games in November and 0-4 ATS in their last four games following an ATS win.
