Bettors loving Panthers in underdog roll
It’s not often that you see an undefeated team as an underdog but that’s the roll Cam Newton and the Panthers currently find themselves in today against the Cowboys at 4:30PM ET.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag currently list 10-0 Carolina as a 1-point road dog versus Dallas for today’s Thanksgiving Day matchup. The spread opened with the Cowboys listed as a 1-point favorite, but the line has danced between 1 point and a pick’em all week. Who knows where it’ll be at kickoff.
What we do know, however, is that public bettors are lining up to take Carolina in a potential underdog roll. Our NFL public betting page shows that 73% of bettors are backing the Panthers to cover the spread versus the Cowboys today. It’s not much of a surprise, as Carolina has been a favorite of public bettors all season, and with good reason. The Panthers are 8-2 against the number in their 10 games this season.
The Panthers are also 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games and are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall. On the other side, the Cowboys are 1-5 at the betting window in their last six home games and just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. But Tony Romo provided the offense a spark last Sunday in Miami and the Cowboys are still technically in contention in a bad NFC East Division, so they’ll be plenty motivated today.
