Bills vs. Broncos Underdog Fantasy Picks: Bo Nix 1.5 Passing TDs (Higher)
Nix has thrown at least two touchdown passes in four consecutive games. He tossed four last week in the Broncos’ must-win-to-make-the-playoffs matchup with Kansas City. He finished with three touchdown passes at Cincinnati in Week 17 and threw a pair of touchdowns against the Chargers in Week 16. Nix kicked off his touchdown-throwing barrage against the Colts in Week 15 when he threw three.
Taking the big-picture view, Nix has thrown multiple touchdown passes in eight of his last 10 games. The only times he failed to throw at least two touchdowns was November 3 at Baltimore and versus Cleveland on December 2. Otherwise, he’s averaging 2.4 touchdown passes per game over his last 10 contests.
Bills vs. Broncos Underdog Fantasy Picks: James Cook 56.5 Rushing Yards (Higher)
Cook rushed for only 28 yards last week against the Patriots but he only had 10 carries as the Bills largely rested their starters in a meaningless game. Toss that game out and he’s rushed for at least 56.5 yards in two out of his last three games. In his last 10 contests, Cook is averaging 66.8 rushing yards per game.
Bills vs. Broncos Underdog Fantasy Picks: Josh Allen 0.5 1H Passing TDs (Higher)
Allen has been outstanding in Wild Card games. In his last four Wild Card matchups, he’s thrown multiple touchdown passes in all of them. In each of his past three Wild Card game appearances, Allen has three or more touchdown passes.
The Broncos defense has posted excellent numbers this season, but their reputation is inflated. When facing weaker quarterbacks like Kirk Cousins, they’ve feasted. When facing signal-callers in a similar tier as Allen, Denver has been abused. That includes allowing Justin Herbert to throw for 9.2 yards per pass attempt in Week 16. Joe Burrow eviscerated the Broncos for three touchdowns and 412 yards in Week 17. Even Jameis Winston threw for nearly five football fields against Denver back in Week 13.
So why take the over on Allen’s touchdown passes in the first half? Because Underdog doesn’t have a full game prop for Allen’s touchdown passes. Nonetheless, I still think it’s an excellent pick.
