Bills head coach Sean McDermott said the team’s offense would have to “figure it out” after their Week 13 loss to the Patriots. On a wildly windy and frigid night, the Bills generated 230 yards (four yards per play) and ten points, with a single field goal in the second half. “I don’t think, honestly, we took advantage of opportunities tonight, I really don’t,” McDermott told reporters after the game. “We were one for four in the red zone. We have to figure that part of it out.” Offensive coordinator Brian Daboll’s red-hot 2020 offense has curdled in 2021, along with every other productive NFL offense, hampered by coverages designed to stop downfield plays. The Bills are averaging about 20 fewer yards per game and 3.5 fewer points per game than they were in 2020. Daboll’s job is likely safe from the remainder of 2021, but McDermott’s dissatisfaction about Daboll’s offense will be something to watch at season’s end.
Tampa Bay Bucs DFS Spin
Tom Brady completed 38-of-51 passes for 368 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in Tampa Bay’s 30-17 Week 13 win over the Falcons. Brady came out firing on the team’s opening possession, throwing 14 consecutive passes (for 11 completions) including a clutch six-yard throw to Leonard Fournette on fourth-and-4 from the Atlanta 38-yard line and again to Fournette for a three-yard touchdown to cap the drive. Brady’s lone blunder — a three-yard pick-six in the final minute of the first half — was his fifth consecutive game with an interception. He later made up for it with his 89th and 90th career touchdown passes to Rob Gronkowski, the second-most by any combo (Manning-Harrison, 112) in NFL history. Brady’s 34 passing touchdowns are also tied for the eighth-most through 12 games in league history. Back on track following Week 12’s 226-yard letdown against the Colts, Brady and the Bucs square off in a potential Super Bowl preview in their upcoming Week 14 matchup against the Bills.
