Broncos -4 vs. Chargers
SAN DIEGO, CA (The Spread) – The Denver Broncos are a win away from another AFC West title. Will they secure it when they face the San Diego Chargers at 4:05PM ET on Sunday?
The Broncos are coming off a 24-17 win over the Bills last week. It was Denver’s third-straight win and improved their record to 10-3. They have a two-game lead on San Diego right now and already own a 35-21 win over the Chargers back on Oct. 23. Denver is now 6-7 against the spread on the year and will come into Sunday’s game 1-3 ATS in its last four.
San Diego had a three-game win streak snapped last week in a 23-14 loss to New England at home. The loss dropped the Chargers to 8-5 on the season. San Diego is also 6-7 against the spread this year, but the Chargers are just 1-7 ATS in their last 8. They have gone 1-3 ATS in their last four games as an underdog.
Oddsmakers like the Broncos to claim the division title on Sunday, as oddsmakers from Bovada.lv have given Denver odds of -4 points at San Diego. The over/under total for the game has been set at 50.5 points (View Matchup). Denver has won six of its last seven against San Diego, but the Chargers have covered in three of the last five in this series.
In the first meeting between these two this season, San Diego was held to just 306 yards while Denver amassed 425 yards. The Broncos had a 139-61 edge in rushing, which is interesting because the Broncos have put an added emphasis on the ground as of late. The Broncos have posted over 130 rushing yards in each of their last three games and went over 200 in two of their last three.
