Broncos could show interest in Romo
Will the Broncos at least discuss adding Tony Romo if he were released by the Cowboys?
Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports that the Broncos are expected to discuss pursuing Romo if he’s released in Dallas. General manager John Elway insists that the Broncos are satisfied with Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch, but it’s hard to buy that notion after Denver missed the playoffs last season. The Broncos still have a great defense but below average quarterback play last season sunk their postseason plans in the end.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Broncos are 15/1 to win the Super Bowl next season and are 15/2 to win the AFC Conference title. Their odds to win the conference are behind only the Patriots (3/1) and Steelers (13/2), who played in the AFC Championship Game last season.

In related news, the Redskins could also be in the mix for Romo if he were released, this report coming from Jason Cole lf Bleacher Report. Long-term talks between Washington and Kirk Cousins have broken down and if Cousins isn’t franchise-tagged again, the Redskins would be in the market for a quarterback. Would Romo stay inside the NFC East though?
Also, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, Romo is willing to “massage” his contract in order to facilitate a trade. The flexibility would allow Dallas to work out fair trade compensation and perhaps deepen the pool of teams that could be interested in acquiring Romo this offseason.
