Denver Broncos DFS Spin
Melvin Gordon (neck, ribs) is questionable for Week 6 against the Chargers. Gordon got in limited practices throughout the week with neck and ribs injuries, ultimately leading to the questionable designation. All signs points to Gordon being available for Monday Night Football, which should afford him the opportunity to continue to lead the backfield against the Chargers. In the first contest without Javonte Williams last week, Gordon handled 15 carries and three targets on a middling 56% snap rate. Expect something similar in Week 6, particularly considering Mike Boone’s recent resurgence. Fantasy managers can safely consider Gordon an RB2 against a Chargers defense allowing the most fantasy points per game to opposing backfields through five weeks.
Los Angeles Chargers DFS Spin
Keenan Allen (hamstring) is doubtful for Week 6 against the Broncos. Allen has played only 22 offensive snaps this season as he tends to yet another soft tissue injury. Although not ruled out, it appears likely fantasy managers will have to wait until Week 7 for the PPR monster’s services. With Jalen Guyton on IR, expect DeAndre Carter to continue in a slot role alongside Josh Palmer and Mike Williams. The Chargers ran increased rates of 12-personnel in Week 5 with the return of tight end Donald Parham, which should continue into Week 6 considering the lack of wide receiver depth. Carter’s low 67% route participation rate and 11.9% targets per route run rate mean he can safely be left on waivers until Allen returns.
