Browns going with Manziel
CLEVELAND, OH (The Spread) – The Cleveland Browns have finally decided to make the change, as ESPN is reporting that Johnny Manziel will start over Brian Hoyer this Sunday against the Bengals.
The Browns are now 7-6 on the season following a 25-24 loss at home to the Colts last Sunday. The game saw another shaky outing from Hoyer, who was 14 of 31 passing for just 140 yards with two interceptions. It marked the third straight game that Hoyer had multiple interceptions and no touchdown passes.
Manziel has seen limited action this year, throwing just nine passes this season. He is 5 of 9 passing for 63 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions. He has rushed twice for 13 yards with one score on the ground.
Oddsmakers still feel like the Browns will compete at a high level on Sunday, as oddsmakers from BetDSI have given this game even odds. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 44 points. Some opening odds had the Bengals favored by as much as two points.
