Cleveland Browns DFS Spin
Nick Chubb (COVID-19) is out for Week 10 against the Patriots. D’Ernest Johnson will start for the Browns Sunday and could handle every snap, literally. It’s unclear at this point who will even be backup Johnson up, with Demetric Felton and John Kelly also out with Covid this week. Johnson is a clear-cut RB1, facing a run funnel Patriots defense, and whether to play Johnson now looks key decision point of the DFS main slate. Chubb is vaccinated and therefore, likely to be active for Week 11. He will be an elite RB1 play in his expected return, facing the lowly Lions.
New England Patriots DFS Spin
Patriots beat writer Evan Lazar reports Rhamondre Stevenson has cleared the concussion protocol and is expected to be active against the Browns on Sunday. It is positive news, though we will note Lazar reported Stevenson would practice on Friday and that did not happen. Hopefully this report is for real. We have yet to hear any such positivity on Damien Harris’ (concussion) status. Thankfully, the Patriots play at 1PM ET, so we will know Stevenson and Harris’ status by the time re-draft lineups must be set. Inactives will be announced at 11:30 AM ET. If Stevenson goes and Harris sits, Stevenson will have legitimate RB2 upside even after missing practice all week. The fourth-round rookie led the Pats in both rushing and receiving yards in Week 9. Stevenson figures to cede plenty of third downs and perhaps even some goal-line carries to Brandon Bolden, who will have FLEX appeal.
NFL Week 10 Betting Prediction
The Browns are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games in New England and have failed to cover in six of their last eight games against the Patriots overall. They’re also 7-15 against the spread in their last 22 conference games, are 1-8 against the number in their last nine games coming off a win of more than 14 points and are 8-21-1 ATS in their last 30 games in November. The Patriots are 38-15 against the spread in their last 53 games after allowing less than 250 total yards in their previous game.
NFL WEEK 10 PREDICTION: NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS -2.5
