Browns OC Alex Van Pelt said Baker Mayfield’s shoulder injury has “definitely hindered” him this season. “It definitely shows. Hopefully next year without the harness you’ll see Baker back to normal with his throwing mechanics. Got a lot of respect for the fact he’s battled through that, we know he’s injured.” Mayfield has been playing through a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder since Week 2 and fracture in his shoulder since Week 6. The Browns have downplayed the injury, but it’s been a clear factor in Mayfield’s regression, who’s expected to have surgery after the year. Cleveland has Mayfield signed through 2022 after picking up his option last offseason and could make him play out his final year without a new contract.
Pittsburgh Steelers DFS Spin
Ben Roethlisberger suggested that Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns will likely be his final game at Heinz Field. Roethlisberger is usually one to tease his retirement in hopes of a coronation at the end of every year but all signs point towards Monday night truly being the end of the 39-year-old’s career at Heinz Field. Expect a standing applause from the crowd in Pittsburgh no matter the final score. Roethlisberger’s last game will take place in Baltimore in Week 18.
Browns vs. Steelers Betting Prediction
The Browns are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against the Steelers, are 8-18 against the number in their last 26 conference games and are 20-46-1 at the betting window in their last 67 games coming off a loss. The Steelers, meanwhile, have covered in five of their last seven conference games, are 14-6-3 at the betting window in their last 23 games in January and are 5-1 against the number in their last six games coming off an ATS loss.
