Browns vs. Steelers Odds
The Pittsburgh Steelers get Ben Roethlisberger under center for the first time this season when they host Cleveland at 1PM ET on Sunday.
Despite playing four games without him, Pittsburgh is still 3-1 on the season and 1-1 at home while Cleveland is 1-4 this season and 0-2 on the road. Pittsburgh has won three of the last four against Cleveland and the last two in Pittsburgh.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have made Pittsburgh a 13.5-point favorite at home against the Browns. The over/under has been set at 37.5.
The opening odds had Pittsburgh favored by 11.5 and the spread has changed a lot through the week, climbing as high as 14.5 points before settling in at 13.5. The over/under started at 39 before falling to 37 points and climbing back up to 37.5.
The Steelers are 3-1 on the season but coming off a loss to Baltimore before the bye, 17-14. The Steelers had used Dennis Dixon and Charlie Batch in place of Roethlisberger as he served his suspension, but still found ways to win. The defense has held opponents to 12.5 points and 289 yards of offense per game and leads the league in rushing defense as it has allowed an average of just 62.3 yards per game. Lawrence Timmons has 48 tackles to lead the defense while James Harrison has three sacks and 29 tackles on the year.
Cleveland is 1-4 with a win over Cincinnati. The Browns are also having quarterback issues as rookie Colt McCoy is expected to start with injuries to both Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace. The Browns also traded running back Jerome Harrison to Philadelphia this week for back Mike Bell. The offense needs a boost as it is averaging just 15.6 points and 301.4 yards per game.
Trends favor Cleveland in this game as the Browns are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against Pittsburgh and they are also 8-1 ATS in their last 9 against the AFC. Pittsburgh is just 1-4-1 ATS in their last six home games.
Wallace and Delhomme are both doubtful with ankle injuries for Cleveland while nose tackle Shaun Rogers is questionable with an elbow injury. For Pittsburgh, tackles Jonathan Scott and Chris Scott are both out with foot injuries.
