Tampa Bay Buccaneers DFS Spin
Tampa Bay running back Leonard Fournette was limited at practice Thursday and is doubtful for this weekend’s game against Cleveland with a hip pointer. If Fournette is unable to play, that could open the door for Bucs’ rookie running back Rachaad White. White had his best game as a pro two weeks ago running for 105 yards on 22 carries in Tampa’s win over Seattle in Munich. He would be a nice DFS option against a Browns’ defense that ranks 28th in the league in opponent average yards per rushing attempt.
Tampa Bay wide receiver Russell Gage didn’t practice on Thursday and is officially ruled out for Sunday’s contest. This could mean an increase in target share for wide receiver Chris Godwin who’s been targeted at least 8 times in 6 of his last 7 games. Godwin found the end zone for the first time all season last week and may be in for another stellar day against the Browns.
Cleveland Browns DFS Spin
Cleveland receiver Amari Cooper had one of his best games of the season in the Browns’ loss to the Bills last weekend, hauling in 8 passes for 112 yards and 2 touchdowns. He’s posted 4 games with 100+ receiving yards and at least one receiving touchdown this year, and he could be in for a big day if Cleveland is trailing in the second half and is forced to throw the ball.
It almost goes without saying, but you should always consider using Cleveland running back Nick Chubb in DFS. Chubb is fifth in the NFL in carries (174), fourth in rushing yards (923), and second in rushing touchdowns (11) on the season. What’s more, Nick Chubb leads the NFL in runs of 20+ yards with 10 on the year. He’d have some value against a Tampa Bay defense that’s 18th in the NFL in opponent yards per rushing attempt.
Buccaneers vs. Browns Betting Trends
Tampa Bay is 13-6 ATS in their last 19 games after allowing fewer than 90 rushing yards in their previous game.
Cleveland is 24-51-1 ATS in their last 76 games following an outright loss.
Cleveland is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games.
Tampa Bay is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against Cleveland.
Buccaneers vs. Browns Prediction:
After beginning the season 3-5, Tampa Bay seems to be slowly but surely turning the ship around with wins over the Rams and Seahawks in their past two games. The Buccaneers currently lead the NFC South by a half-game and are still on track to make the playoffs as long as they win the games they’re supposed to win. This game against Cleveland is one that Tampa Bay likely has to win to stay in the playoff hunt, and I like my chances with Tom Brady in a must-win game against a bad team. I’ll lay the points with the Bucs.
