Buccaneers vs. Panthers Prediction
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers head to Charlotte, NC to play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon when Week 7’s NFL Sunday slate begins at 1:00 PM ET.
Can the Panthers pull off the upset and cover the spread as 13-point home underdogs?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 3-3 through their first 6 games of 2022. Their best wins were over the Cowboys and the Falcons. Their worst losses were to the Packers and the Steelers. The Buccaneers are 2-4 ATS this year.
The Carolina Panthers are 1-5 so far this season. They beat the Saints in Week 3, but have dropped their last three games since then. The Panthers are 1-5 ATS on the year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers DFS Spin
Buccaneers’ running back Leonard Fournette is a solid play against the Panthers on Sunday. Fournette leads Tampa Bay in rushing attempts, rushing yards, targets, and receptions. He should get a boatload of touches against a Carolina defense that is allowing 133.3 rushing yards per game, which ranks 26th in the league.
I’d consider using wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin against Carolina as well. Both players are averaging over 60 receiving yards per game and they’ve combined for 10 catches of 20+ yards on the year. For a sleeper at tight end, you could take a look at rookie Cade Otton. Starting tight end Cameron Brate will miss Sunday’s game with a neck injury and Otton could see an increased share of targets as a result.
Carolina Panthers DFS Spin
The 1-5 Carolina Panthers aren’t in good shape. They traded their top wide receiver in Robbie Anderson, and just traded their franchise running back Christian McCaffrey. On top of that, Baker Mayfield has an ankle injury and won’t be able to start Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay. That means it’s going to be P.J. Walker under center for Carolina. Walker threw for 60 yards on 3.8 yards per attempt in a 24-10 loss to the Rams last week.
I’d be hesitant to start anyone on the Panthers in DFS but you could consider running backs D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard. With Christian McCaffrey gone and a 3rd-string QB under center, Carolina might be more apt to run the ball. Wide receiver D.J. Moore will probably see the most targets on the team and maybe even get a few carries, as he’s the Panthers’ third-leading rusher on the year.
Buccaneers vs. Panthers Betting Trends
Carolina is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring fewer than 15 points in their previous game.
Carolina is 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games following an outright loss.
Tampa Bay is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in Carolina.
The road team is 11-5 ATS in the last 16 meetings between Tampa Bay and Carolina.
Buccaneers vs. Panthers Prediction:
The Carolina Panthers have fired their head coach, traded their best two offensive players, and their first- and second-string quarterbacks will be out for this game. Tampa Bay has Tom Brady as their quarterback and he will surely be fired up after the Bucs’ terrible loss to the Steelers last weekend. What’s more, Tampa has one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Buccaneers are allowing only 4.7 yards per play, the 4th-best mark in the league. I think they suffocate a reeling Panthers team that, despite what the front office is saying, is heading into full-blown tank mode. I’ll lay the points with Tom Brady and Tampa Bay.
