TAMPA BAY: The Buccaneers are coming off a 23-21 loss to the Eagles last Sunday. Tampa Bay has dropped three straight games to fall to 6-7 on the season. Tampa will need to win out in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. In the loss to Philadelphia, the Bucs had just 314 total yards against a struggling defense. Quarterback Josh Freeman threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns but was just 14 of 34 passing in the game. Freeman has completed less than 50 percent of his passes in his last two games and had a QB rating of 80 or below in three of his last four games.
NEW ORLEANS: The Saints are coming off a 52-27 loss to the Giants last Sunday. The loss was the third straight for the Saints, eliminating them from any playoff contention. New Orleans didn’t have any issues moving the ball in this game, as they racked up 487 yards, but they had four turnovers in the process. What hurt the Saints was Giants’ return man and running back, David Wilson, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries and also had 227 yards in kick returns, including a 97-yard TD return. Drew Brees finished with 354 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. Brees has thrown for 4,028 yards on the season and could possibly hit the 5,000-yard mark for the second straight season.
ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Saints are 3.5-point favorites versus the Buccaneers, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 54 points. Tampa Bay is 6-7 overall, 3-3 on the road and 9-3-1 against the spread. New Orleans is 5-8 overall, 3-3 at home and 6-7 against the spread.
