Bucs 100/1 longshots to win Super Bowl, Jameis Winston named starting QB

Jameis Winston named Bucs’ starter

TAMPA, FL (The Spread) – In a move that surprised nobody, Bucs coach Lovie Smith has named rookie Jameis Winston the team’s starting quarterback.

Winston split first-team reps with Mike Glennon this spring but it would have been a total upset had Glennon started over Winston, who was the No. 1 overall pick in April’s NFL draft. Winston, who had off-field issues at Florida State, hasn’t fallen into trouble this offseason and reportedly hasn’t had issues picking up Dirk Koetter’s playbook.

While the offensive line is a question mark heading into training camp, Winston has plenty of weapons surrounding him in Tampa Bay’s offense. Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson are legit threats at the receiver position while Austin Seferian-Jenkins gives Winston a massive target at tight end. If Doug Martin can recapture the magic that made him a Pro Bowler in 2012, the Bucs could start to become a formidable offense.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bucs are 100/1 long shots to win the 2016 Super Bowl. They’re also 40/1 to win the NFC Conference Championship and 13/2 to win the NFC South Division.
