Tampa Bay Bucs DFS Spin
Tom Brady completed 26-of-48 passes for 213 yards with an interception in the Bucs’ Week 15 loss to the Saints. Brady was sacked four times and lost a fumble in the shutout loss. This was a disaster game for the Bucs offense with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Leonard Fournette all leaving with injuries. Brady wasn’t moving the offense against a Saints defense that’s had his number even before his top receivers checked out. It’s the first time since Week 4 Brady hasn’t thrown a touchdown, while the 213 yards are his lowest since Week 7. Tampa will get back Antonio Brown next week, but Godwin is expected to miss time and Evans and Fournette are in danger of sitting Week 16. The Bucs close out the season with two games against the Panthers and a matchup with the Jets, but Brady’s MVP chances and stretch run outlook are going to take major hits without his full supporting cast.
Carolina Panthers DFS Spin
Panthers coach Matt Rhule said Sam Darnold (shoulder) “will play” in Week 16 against the Bucs. The Panthers plan to start Cam Newton, but want to get a look at Darnold for the first time since going on IR. Carolina has lost four straight with Newton and are out of the playoffs, giving Newton a short leash on Sunday with Rhule coaching for his job. This could be Newton’s last week as the Panthers’ starter before they turn back to Darnold, who went 4-5 in nine starts and is the only quarterback under contract next season.
