Bills vs. Dolphins Pick
Will the Buffalo Bills have a spirited effort when it goes on the road Sunday to face the Miami Dolphins at 4:25PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Buffalo is favored on the road, as the Bills are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Dolphins. The over/under total for the game is listed at 42.5 points. The home team has won three of the last four meetings in this series and the two have hit the over in five straight games. The public betting in this game has 61 percent of the wagers on the Bills on the road. Sunday’s game takes place from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida and will air live on CBS.
The Bills are on the outside looking in for the playoffs, but can still find their way in with a win and some help. Buffalo is coming off a 37-16 loss at New England to drop to 8-7 on the season. The Bills have hit the over in two straight and are 8-7 with the over this year. Buffalo hasn’t been a great offensive team this year, averaging 18.7 points and 318.2 yards per game this season. They do have a strong run game with LeSean McCoy rushing for 1,128 yards and six scores. Tyrod Taylor has run for 392 yards and four scores while throwing for 2,595 yards and 13 touchdowns. Defensively, Buffalo is holding opponents to 22.9 points and 364.9 yards per game. Micah Hyde has 75 tackles and five interceptions to lead the unit.
Miami is coming off a 29-13 loss at Kansas City for its second straight defeat. The Dolphins are now 6-9 on the season while posting an 8-7 record with the over. Miami is averaging just 17.7 points and 321.1 yards per contest this year on offense. Jay Cutler has thrown for 2,660 yards and 19 touchdowns with 14 interceptions. Kenyan Drake has run for 569 yards and three scores while Jarvis Landry has 103 catches for 895 yards and eight scores. Defensively, Miami is giving up 24.7 points and 348.4 yards per contest.
These two have hit the over in five straight and I can see this game strangely being a high-scoring battle. Both teams struggle on offense for the most part, but I think Buffalo will be aggressive, knowing it needs a win. That could lead to some big plays and also some turnovers. Miami has actually hit the over in 11 of its last 16 season finales and four of its last five at home. The Bills have hit the over in five of their last six against a losing team.
