Fitzpatrick to stay hot?
Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing as well as almost anyone right now. Will that continue when the New York Jets face the Dallas Cowboys tonight?
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, the Jets are favored on the road in tonight’s game, as they are getting odds of -3 points against the Cowboys. The over/under total for the game has been set at 41.5 points. These two meet tonight at 8:25PM ET on the NFL Network.
Fitzpatrick has performed better than most could have expected. He has led the Jets to an 8-5 record thus far and a 7-5-1 mark against the spread. New York finds itself in the playoff mix, with Fitzpatrick a big reason. The veteran QB has thrown for 3,129 yards with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2015. The 25 touchdown passes is already a career-high for Fitzpatrick in a season. Today Fitzpatrick leads the Jets on the road against the struggling Cowboys (4-9, 4-9 ATS).
Oddsmakers have listed the over/under for Fitzpatrick in tonight’s game at 255.5 passing yards and 1.5 touchdown passes. That could be a lot for Fitz to deal with, as he faces the NFL’s fourth-ranked pass defense. The Cowboys are giving up just 221.1 yards per game in the air. Dallas hasn’t allowed a 256-yard passer in its last four games, but it has given up two touchdown passes in two of its last four contests. Fitzpatrick has been a strong game manager for the most part, but he is on a real hot streak the last three weeks. He has had at least 263 yards in three straight games while passing for 9 touchdowns and no interceptions. Fitzpatrick has multiple TD passes in 10 games this season.
