Will Bengals limit A. Brown?
Antonio Brown has been nearly unstoppable for the past few years, but can the Cincinnati Bengals limit his impact in today’s NFL Wild Card Playoff Game?
According to oddsmakers at RealBets, Pittsburgh is favored on the road in today’s playoff game, as the Steelers are getting odds of -1.5 points against the Bengals. The over/under total for the game has been set at 44.5 points.
Brown finished the NFL regular season tied for the league-lead in receptions at 136 and he was second in yards at 1,834. He also had 10 touchdown catches. He leads the Steelers (10-6, 9-6-1) in today’s game with their AFC North rival in the Bengals (12-4, 12-3-1 ATS). Brown has actually had two of his lowest performances of the season against Cincinnati. In a Nov. 1 meeting in Pittsburgh, Brown had just 6 catches for 47 yards with one touchdown. In a Dec. 13 meeting in Cincy, Brown had 7 receptions for 87 yards with no scores.
For today’s contest, the oddsmakers have listed Brown’s over/under for receptions at 8.5 and his over/under for receiving yards at 105.5. Despite allowing the second-fewest points in the NFL this season, the Cincinnati defense actually ranks just 20th in passing, allowing 248.5 yards per game through the air. Still, they have managed to keep Brown from breaking the big play against them this season and they are almost the only team to do so. Brown has had at least 9 receptions in seven games this year and he has had 106 yards or more in nine different games. With DeAngelo Williams out for today’s contest, Pittsburgh is going to have to find unique ways to get Brown involved in the offense. Look for a lot of quick passes and screens to him in hopes to get him the ball in space.
