Flagstaff, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to terms on a five-year contract with first-round draft pick Beanie Wells
and the former Ohio State running back was expected to arrive at training camp in time for Saturday afternoon’s practice.
Financial terms of the contract were not immediately available.
To make room on the roster for Wells, the Cardinals released tight end Alex Shor.
Wells was the 31st overall pick in the NFL draft after leading the Buckeyes in rushing last season with 1,197 yards and eight touchdowns on 207 carries.
He finished his three-year Ohio State career with 3,382 rushing yards – fourth-best in school history – and 30 touchdowns.
