Cardinals vs. 49ers Week 11 Odds
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (The Spread) – Can the 49ers keep rolling when they host a Cardinals team that has suddenly heat up the past two weeks?
ARIZONA: The Cardinals shocked the NFL world last Sunday with a 21-17 victory in Philadelphia as a 13.5-point underdog. The win improved Arizona’s record to 3-6 overall and 5-4 against the spread. John Skelton is now 2-0 while filling in as the starter for Kevin Kolb, whom the Cardinals acquired via trade with the Eagles this offseason. Of course, it was Larry Fitzgerald’s two touchdowns and dominance of Philly’s secondary that allowed the Cards to pull off the upset. It also didn’t hurt that Arizona’s defense rose to the challenge and harassed a banged up Michael Vick for four quarters either.
SAN FRANCISCO: The 49ers just keep plugging along. They picked up their eighth win of the season and their seventh in a row by beating the Giants 27-20 last Sunday as a 3.5-point favorite. Frank Gore is banged up, however, so San Francisco will continue to rely on its defense to produce big plays. Alex Smith has also been the perfect game manager for a Niners team that is now 8-0-1 against the spread this season.
ODDS: Oddsmakers have installed the 49ers as a 9.5-point favorite over the Cardinals, while the over/under total for this game is currently sitting at 40.5 points. Arizona comes into this week with a 3-6 record overall and is 1-4 on the road, while San Francisco is 8-1 overall and 4-1 at home.
TRENDS: The underdog is 7-3 against the spread in the last 10 meetings between these two teams but the Cardinals are 0-5 ATS in their last five games against the 49ers. The road team, however, is 9-2 ATS in the last 11 meetings but the 49ers are 8-0 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite. San Fran is also 7-0-1 ATS in its last eight versus the NFC and 6-0 ATS in its last six games as a home favorite.
