ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Kyler Murray (ankle) will “test his injury in pre-game warmups before Arizona makes a final decision on his status.” Murray went down with the ankle injury at the end of his Week 8 loss to the Packers and did not practice in any capacity this week. Cardinals general manager Steve Keim has already noted that the team will consider the “big picture” when deciding if Murray will play this week. If Murray does go, expect a more run-heavy approach from the Cardinals as they attempt to protect their franchise passer. Murray, who has been running less this year before the injury, would rank as a low-end QB1 if he goes. Colt McCoy will draw the start if he sits.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Deebo Samuel (calf) is expected to play in Week 9 against the Cardinals. Samuel has been dealing with the calf issue for multiple weeks but Kyle Shanahan noted that the injury was worse leading into the team’s Week 9 contest. He will need to make it through a final check in warmups but Samuel appears to be ready to go. Samuel is averaging 115.5 receiving yards per game, a mark that trails only Cooper Kupp. Despite the lingering calf issue, he remains a WR1 versus the Cardinals this week.
