Cardinals vs. Seahawks Prediction
Will the Arizona Cardinals cover the point spread as a road underdog when they visit the Seattle Seahawks at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday?
Who Oddsmakers Like: Seattle. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are 8.5-point home favorites to beat the Cardinals, who opened as a 7-point road underdog before the line climbed. The total, meanwhile, sits at 38.5 points after hitting the board at 41.
Who the Public Likes: As of Sunday morning, 55% of the betting tickets are on the Seahawks to cover the spread and 58% of the money is also on Seattle.
Who the Trends Like: The underdog is 4-0-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams while the road team is 5-0-1 against the number in the last six games in this series.
Who We Like: Arizona. The Cardinals should give the Seahawks a game. They have had success in Seattle during Bruce Arians’ tenure and despite their plethora of injuries, the Cardinals continue to play hard with a depleted roster.
Speaking of Arians, there was a report early Sunday morning by ESPN.com’s Adam Schefter that stated Arians is expected to “step away” from coaching after this season. Arians has yet to make an official decision, but he seems to be learning towards retirement at 65 years old.
What does that have to do with today’s game? Arians is beloved by his players, who know doubt will want to send their head coach out on top. Coupled with the ability to ruin their division rivals’ season, I’ll take the underdog today in Seattle.
