Carroll hopeful Marshawn Lynch plays Sunday, Seahawks favored vs. Vikings

Carroll hopeful Lynch plays vs. Vikings

Coach Pete Carroll said Monday that he’s hopeful running back Marshawn Lynch will be able to play Sunday when the Seahawks visit the Vikings.

The last time Lynch (abdomen) saw game action was in a 39-32 loss to the Cardinals on November 15. He returned to team headquarters on Monday and Carroll even noted that Lynch is “ready to rock” on Sunday when the Seahawks take on the Vikings in the opening round of the NFL playoffs.

After Seattle opened as a 4.5-point road favorite versus Minnesota, the line climbed to 5.5 and that’s where it currently sits at online sports book RealBet.eu. The total has also seen some movement, dropping from 42 down to 41.5 points.

If he does return, it’s unlikely that Lynch will see more than 12-15 carries versus the Vikings on Sunday. He’s been out for well over a month and the Seahawks may choose to take it slowly with their star back. Christine Michael and Bryce Brown will continue to be in the backfield mix for the Seahawks moving forward.
