Justin Herbert completed 35-of-47 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns in the Chargers’ 25-24, Week 12 win over the Cardinals. Playing behind a makeshift offensive line, one that loss RT Trey Pipkins early in the proceedings, Herbert had little time to throw as the Chargers kept their passing attack painfully shallow. He nevertheless generated three scores for the first time since Week 2, and made the plays the Chargers needed late, including a game-winning two-point conversion strike to Gerald Everett with 0:15 remaining. For his touchdowns, Herbert found each of Keenan Allen, DeAndre Carter and Austin Ekeler. Carter’s score was a 33-yarder that doubled as Herbert’s longest completion of the game. It was a YAC job after the defense lost an in-motion Carter. Herbert was lucky to escape without an interception, having a bad INT undone by replay. While Allen’s return has helped, Mike Williams’ would be even better for Week 13 against the Raiders’ awful defense.
Las Vegas Raiders DFS Spin
Derek Carr completed 25-of-36 passes for 295 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Raiders’ 40-34, Week 12 win over the Seahawks. Carr’s first few plays were a nightmare. It started with an interception on the opening play of the game. Then shortly after the pick, Carr took a hard hit to the midsection and stayed down on the field for a while. He returned to the game after a one-play absence and rebounded with a touchdown toss to Ameer Abdullah a few snaps later. Though he would go on to throw another interception in the first half, the remainder of the game was not nearly as disastrous for the veteran passer. Carr punctuated his strong second half with a game-tying touchdown strike to Foster Moreau. In overtime, Josh Jacobs sealed the game with a monstrous touchdown run of 86 yards. Carr now has at least two touchdown throws in each of his past four games. He will look to stay in the low-end QB1 range in Week 13 versus the Chargers.
