Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers ended the season on a three game win streak, with the latest being 34-20 over the Raiders. Justin Herbert completed 28 of 36 pass attempts for 346 yards and 2 touchdowns. J.K. Dobbins rushed for 63 yards on 18 carries. Quentin Johnston went off for 13 receptions and 186 yards. Justin Herbert completed 66% of his passes on the season for 23 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. He finished with a 65.3 QBR.
Houston Texans
The Texans had lost two straight games before winning their last game of the season 23-14 over the Titans. The key starters on the Texans offense only played one drive as this game was meaningless. C.J. Stroud completed 6 of 6 pass attempts for 50 yards and a touchdown. Joe Mixon rushed for 23 yards on 5 carries. Nico Collins had 38 receiving yards and a touchdown. The defense gets Azeez Al-Shaair back from suspension. Stroud completed 63% of his passes for 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions with a QBR of 50.2 on the season.

Chargers vs. Texans Prediction:
I’m rolling with Harbaugh and the boys in this one on Saturday afternoon. It’s hard to trust this Texans offense. I really would have liked to see Stroud play at least the entire 1st half last week against the Titans to really get some positive vibes going and to get some work in with his other receivers in a real game situation. Instead it was just one drive, and only 4 players on the offense touched the ball, the center, Stroud, Mixon, and Collins. And that came after a game where the offense put up a goose egg against the Ravens. Stroud has struggled in his second season in the NFL, throwing 8 interceptions in the last 8 games. Sacks have been an issue for the Texans all season and the Chargers rank 6th in sacks per game.
On the other side all systems are a go for the Chargers. They are coming in with the momentum of 3 straight wins. Yes the last two were against the Raiders and the Patriots but the offense has been clicking for 34+ points in each of the last 3 games. Even Quentin Johnston who struggled with drops all season will be flying high after an 186 yard game. Herbert has been great at protecting the ball all season, throwing just 3 interceptions. On top of that they have the best defense in the country allowing just 17.7 points per game. And that gets even better on the road, where they allow just 13.9 points per game compared to 22 at home.
On top of all of that, the Chargers come into this one 5-1 ATS on the season as a road favorite. Meanwhile Houston is 3-4-1 ATS on their home field. I trust the Chargers to get it done on Saturday.
