Chiefs vs. Cowboys Prediction
With Ezekiel Elliott avoiding serving his suspension yet again, will the Cowboys top the Chiefs Sunday afternoon in Dallas?
Game Info
Who: Chiefs (6-2) at Cowboys (4-3)
When: 4:25 p.m. ET, Sunday, November 5
Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX
Who Oddsmakers Like: Dallas. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Cowboys are 2.5-point home favorites versus the Chiefs, who opened as a 1-point underdog. As for the total, the number hit the board at 48.5 but was bet down to 53.
Who the Public Likes: Kansas City. As of Sunday morning, 60% of tickets were on the Chiefs plus the points.
Who the Trends Like: Dallas. The home team is 3-1-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams.
Who We Like: Dallas. Thanks to Alex Smith playing at an MVP level, the Chiefs have more firepower than ever under Andy Reid. Kareem Hunt gives Reid’s offense an added dimension both as a runner and as a pass-catcher, while Tyreek Hill is a touchdown waiting to happen every time he has the ball in his hands and tight end Travis Kelce can stretch the seams.
That said, I think this is a horrible matchup for the Chiefs, who have had all kinds of issues defending the run. Elliott was supposed to start serving his six-game suspension but was granted another stay in the courts, so he’ll be in uniform. Over the last three weeks, he has carved up opponents as Dallas is starting to resemble the team that rushed its way to the top of the NFC standings last season.
A solid running game by Dallas will help protect its defense against the high-powered Chiefs. Smith, Hunt, Kelce and Hill can’t do any damage if they’re standing on the sidelines all game. I think the Cowboys will dominant time of possession, will limit opportunities for the Chiefs’ offense and win in a shootout. This should be the best game of the day.
