Super Bowl MVP Betting Predictions
OPTION 1: A.J. Brown (+2500)
Cooper Kupp of the Rams won the MVP last year and the Patriots’ Julian Edelman won the award in 2019. That makes two receivers to win the Super Bowl MVP in the last four seasons. Brown has been quiet thus far in the postseason, racking up four receptions for 28 yards against the 49ers in the NFC title game and three catches for 22 yards versus the Giants in the Divisional round. That said, the Niners played most of the game with a banged-up quarterback and the Giants were overwhelmed from the start. It’s unlikely the Eagles win tonight by running the football as much as they did in their first two games and Brown has more big-play ability than any receiver in tonight’s game.
OPTION 2: Patrick Mahomes (+130)
If the Chiefs win, it’s highly unlikely they do so without Mahomes having a big game. Travis Kelce is another solid option and if you wanted to get real wild, you could take a flier on Chris Jones at +700. But at +130, there’s still plenty of value in Mahomes’ odds. If you like the Chiefs, correlating them with a Mahomes’ MVP play is common sense.
OPTION 3: Dallas Goedert (+7500)
Yeah, I could have gone with Hurts but you know the Eagles’ QB will be in play if you like Philly tonight. The Chiefs will spend plenty of attention defensively on Brown and DeVonta Smith, perhaps leaving the middle of the field open to Goedert. He might need to score twice to get into the MVP conversation, but he should be heavily targeted in a shootout.
