Patrick Mahomes said he will continue to “take shots” no matter opposing defensive schemes. “I think, just in general, even when we’re not connecting on them, it still tells that defense they have to back up, and it opens up stuff underneath,” Mahomes explained. “Taking those shots during the game, even if they’re not connecting, it kind of puts a little bit of a fear into the defense to know they can’t start coming up; they can’t start jumping some of our routes.” Coach Andy Reid confirmed as much, stating “if it’s a situation where it’s equal or depending on the matchup, you take the shot.” Mahomes has averaged fewer than 6.0 yards per attempt in four of his last five starts but clearly does not intend on launching downfield into shell coverage any time soon. He remains a low-end QB1 for Week 10 against the Raiders.
Las Vegas Raiders DFS Spin
Derek Carr completed 30-of-46 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders’ 23-16, Week 9 loss to the Giants. Carr tossed his second pick-six of the year in this game and both of his interceptions landed in the hands of Giants safety Xavier McKinney. McKinney read Carr well and jumped Hunter Renfrow’s route, resulting in an easy house call for the second-year safety. Carr earned most of his yards on short and intermediate throws, likely the result of Henry Ruggs’ release earlier this week. He connected with Zay Jones and Bryan Edwards, the potential replacements for Ruggs, just one time on eight tries. Carr gets a juicy matchup with the Chiefs next week which will help him bounce back from this weak performance. He’ll be a high-end QB2 and a solid streaming option in Week 10.
NFL Week 10 Betting Prediction
