Patrick Mahomes completed 24-of-34 passes for 393 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions in the Chiefs’ 33-27 Week 14 win against Miami. Only one of Mahomes’ three interceptions was blatantly his fault — the others were tipped or redirected after leaving Mahomes’ hand. Those turnovers were the only thing preventing KC from blowing out Miami in the first half. Even with his uncharacteristic mistakes, KC was up 20 headed into the fourth quarter. Miami’s secondary frustrated Mahomes early on, pressuring him on nearly every drop back. That led to an unseemly 30-yard loss on a sack of Mahomes in the first half. He proceeded to shred the Dolphins in the second half. Mahomes will again be a high-end QB1 in Week 15 against New Orleans.

Saints coach Sean Payton confirmed Drew Brees (ribs) will start in Week 15 against the Chiefs. Payton also said Brees has worn protective gear around his ribs for years, so playing Sunday should be nothing new. The Saints swore up and down the veteran signal-caller would only play when he made a full recovery, and Sunday’s inevitable shootout against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs appears to be the perfect spot to return. Given the game environment in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Brees can confidently be slotted into starting lineups as a low-end QB1 in the second round of the fantasy playoffs.
