According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Colts are favored on the road, as they are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Bills. The over/under total for the game has been set at 46 points. The favorite is 5-1-1 against the spread in the last 7 in this series and these two have hit the under in 4 of their last 5 meetings.

The Colts were 11-5 last season, winning the AFC South and reaching the AFC Championship. Indy was 12-6-1 against the spread last season while going 9-9-1 on the over/under total. Chuck Pagano is in his fourth season as coach. He has led the Colts to an 11-5 record in each of his previous three seasons. Part of that is because he has Andrew Luck at quarterback. Luck is coming off a 40-TD season where he threw for 4,761 yards. This season, the Colts have added Frank Gore and Andre Johnson to help improve the offense. While both are veterans, the addition of Gore is something Indy hopes help it improve on its 23rd-ranked rushing offense in 2014.

The Bills were 9-7 last season, just missing out on the playoffs. In an odd situation, coach Doug Marrone opted out of his contract, which opened the door for Rex Ryan to take over the franchise. The Bills were 9-7 against the spread in 2014 while going 13-3 with the under, which was the most of any team in the league. Ryan spent the last six years as coach of the Jets, taking them to two AFC title games in his first two seasons. The Bills added LeSean McCoy to the team in the offseason, but he is dealing with a hamstring injury that could limit his workload in the opener. The Bills don’t have a strong quarterback as it will be Tyrod Taylor getting the start while Matt Cassel will be his backup. Taylor has thrown for 35 passes in his four-year career and hasn’t record a touchdown.
