Washington Commanders DFS Spin
Carson Wentz completed 27-of-41 passes for 313 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions in the Commanders’ 28-22, Week 1 win over the Jaguars. Wentz and the Jaguars came out hot in this one, as the embattled quarterback led Washington on back-to-back touchdown drives to open the game. Wentz’s first touchdown pass came on a three-yard toss to Curtis Samuel, while his second came on a seven-yard score to Jahan Dotson in the back of the end zone. A scoreless third quarter followed by back-to-back interceptions saw Wentz and the Commanders go down 22-14 early in the third quarter, but they would respond with two quick touchdowns — from 49 and 24 yards out to regain the lead before ultimately winning it 28-22. Wentz’s inaccuracy and poor decision-making were on display at times in this one, but it was his big play ability that brought him to Washington this offseason — which was also on display. Wentz could be a high-end QB2 next week at Detroit if today’s efforts are any indication.
Detroit Lions DFS Spin
Jared Goff completed 21-of-37 passes for 215 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the Lions’ 35-38, Week 1 loss to the Eagles. Goff didn’t have a notable fantasy day, but his offense scored five times on a defense that allowed less than three touchdowns per game in 2021. In addition to throwing a single interception, he was also sacked just once. Goff leaned heavily on Amon-Ra St. Brown, looking his way 12 times. He connected with St. Brown and newcomer D.J. Chark for his two scores. The Lions have an improved receiving room and an elite offensive line. Goff looks more than capable of posting QB2 numbers versus the Commanders next week.

Commanders vs. Lions Prediction:
The Commanders went winless against the spread in their previous four trips to Ford Field and are just 1-5 against the number in their last six games versus the Lions overall. The home team in this series has also covered in five of the previous six meetings, while the Commanders are 1-5 against the number in their last six games played in September (their lone ATS win in September came last week). On the other side, the Lions have covered in five straight home games, in four straight against a team with a winning record and in six of their last seven coming off a loss.
